Kevin de Choisy - earthenware & porcelain
One of the leading potters to graduate from Harrow School of Art, Kevin de Choisy subsequently worked as a production thrower in industry in the USA, before returning to this country in 1990, where he is now established in Glastonbury, Somerset. A celebrant of our best ceramic history, his colourful work owes much to Staffordshire 18th century creamwares and the peacock vibrancy of Thomas Whieldon, but also, more recently, to Chinese Song wares. He has lately developed some fine celadon and tenmoku glazes on porcelain and stoneware, further proof of Kevin’s technical virtuosity and love of process. He is very much a potter’s potter admired for his ability to concentrate his knowledge into generous work of great individuality.
